The Right Fit

Colt S. Kline – Easy to read display

This is a great and easy to use unit to test you blood pressure. The cuff is easy to apply to either arm. One button start and stop. Will keep last 200 readings for two people. Runs on batteries and/or DC adapter.

I have found the software has to be downloaded. CDs are omitted from the package. I was able to install the software and transfer all readings from the monitor easily. Any past software issues and compatability problems have been fixed. Software was tested on Windows 7.

The only drawback is that there are no provisions to delete unwanted readings. The software does have the option to ignore them. My reasoning is due to if the cuff was not applied properly that those readings could be deleted. The unit keeps the last 200.

All-in-all; an excellent monitor to have.

Omron’s portable blood pressure device is something every home should have, particularly if you have a member over the age of 50. I do not use Microsoft’s Healthvault so I cannot comment on that aspect of the device, but the device is easy to use, the display is good, very portable and works well on battery power. My blood pressure has always been `borderline – high’ so having the ability to check it on the spot is helpful.

This is something I would not have thought of to purchase for myself, but now that I have it I can see where it will be extremely useful. On the surface the cost may seem a bit high, but consider that this is a medical device that can save your life and costs less than an iPod Nano!

It is hard to give a long or detailed review for such a purpose built device, but its design is good, display great, the ability to link to an online repository is a plus as well. Overall, next to digital thermometer, this is the digital health device to have. Recommended for people who want to actively monitor their health.
